Oil and gas
Development and execution of projects for the oil and gas industry
TECSOL has been involved in providing services for the oil and gas sector, accumulating experience in engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, and commissioning services for upstream and midstream infrastructure. Across all our projects, we apply the industry’s most demanding standards for the construction of these facilities, such as ASME Section IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API 650, API 653, among others.
Upstream infrastructure:
- Well drilling site preparation.
- Early production facilities.
- Drilling clusters.
- Flow line laying.
- Flow stations.
Midstream infrastructure:
- Storage tanks.
- Hydrocarbon transfer pumping systems.
- Gas compression systems.
- Gas pipelines, oil pipelines, multiproduct pipelines.

Downstream
Refining and petrochemicals (complex process engineering): Our downstream division specializes in comprehensive lifecycle management for processing plants, ensuring that units operate at their maximum design capacity under the strictest industrial safety protocols.
- Plant turnaround engineering (turnarounds – TAR): We perform turnaround planning and execution under the critical path method (CPM) and scope optimization methodologies, focusing on reducing downtime.
- Goal: To achieve a “flawless startup” through pre-commissioning inspections and tightness testing.
- Scope: Major overhaul of atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, hydrotreating reactors, and fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units.
- Production debottlenecking and expansion: We develop engineering projects to eliminate bottlenecks in critical processes, enabling measurable increases in refinery throughput.
- Equipment revamping: Modernization of heat exchangers, fractionating columns, and pumping systems to process heavier crude slates or increase middle distillate yield.
- Energy efficiency: Optimization of preheat trains to reduce carbon intensity and improve operating margin per barrel.
- Integrity management and regulatory compliance: We ensure mechanical reliability based on risk-based inspection (RBI) philosophy, strictly complying with:
- API 510: Certification and repair of pressure vessels.
- API 570: Integrity of process piping systems.
- API 653: Inspection and reconstruction of storage tanks.
- ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and 2: For the design and fabrication of critical components.
- API 579 (Fitness-For-Service): Fitness-for-service evaluation of equipment with mechanical damage or corrosion.
- Smart distribution and storage terminals:
- Control and telemetry systems: Implementation of high-precision level measurement systems (radar/servo) and SCADA systems for real-time inventory control, minimizing unaccounted losses.
- Vapor recovery units (VRU): Engineering for the mitigation of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions during tank truck loading, ensuring compliance with international environmental standards.
- Quality assurance and specialized laboratory:
- ASTM certification: Execution of physical and chemical testing under ASTM D86, D93, D445 standards, among others, to ensure that the finished product (EN590 diesel, Jet A-1, premium gasoline) meets the octane, cetane, and sulfur content specifications required by the global market.
